WT Infrastructure and partner firm EVB Engineering completed an optimization study of the sanitary pumping station servicing the entire Craigleith sanitary collection system. The study looked at pumping optimization, compliance with NFPA standards and review of opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of the system. The project included datalogging of energy use and pumping operations, review of historical operational conditions and assessment of the propose operation of the system. The recommended alternatives included upgrades to the facility to improve pump efficiency and upgrades to the building envelope to address odour, NFPA compliance and general ease of operation.
