WT Infrastructure was retained by the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board to evaluate the operation of their rural school water supplies and provide recommendations to address the complexity of operation and excessive nuisance alarms associated with the systems. The original systems were designed to be highly automated, but did not address the unique characteristics of a school system where water may only be used for 40 hours per week or less. The intermittent use caused issues with chlorine management, UV alarms and ease of operation. We modified the designs to be more practical and reliable for the use. Engineering Evaluation Reports were prepared for each upgraded sites. Additionally, we revised and updated the O&M manual for all of the schools to ensure both compliance and ease of operation.
