WT Infrastructure and partner firm EVB Engineering were retained to complete a Schedule B Class EA and Preliminary Design of the proposed diversion of sanitary flow from the Craigleith Sanitary Pumping Station to the Craigleith Wastewater Treatment Plant including a new sanitary trunk sewer, wet-well dry-well pumping station and relocated septage receiving station. The project included two Public Information Centres, compliance with the municipal Class EA process, indigenous and agency notification/consultation. Supporting studies included an ecological assessment, cultural heritage and archaeological assessment, hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations. The preferred alternative is a trunk sanitary sewer on Long Point Road with a new sanitary pumping station on the Craigleith WWTP site and co-location of a relocated septage/leachate receiving station on the WWTP site design to address odour production and blending of high strength wastewater entering the WWTP headworks.
